Auctioning since 2002, Head of Auction Services & Chief Auctioneer for a major real estate network till 2007 and working as a freelance auctioneer since then. John has literally conducted thousands of auctions. Irrespective of what may happen at your auction, John has been there, done that... and has the knowledge, experience and expertise to handle any situation and get you the best possible result on the day, come what may.
UNDERSTANDING
John understands how important every single auction is for the sellers, agents and buyers. Selling or/and buying a property is typically one the most important decisions people will make in their lives and can be a highly emotional experience. It's imperative the auctioneer has done their research and preparation prior to the auction and the auctioneer is 100% focused on the auction they are conducting and bring their 'A' game to every single auction.
Sellers deserve an auctioneer that has the experience, knowledge, expertise and personality to work effectively with their agent to do the best possible job for them on the auction day, whatever the circumstances that may unfold.
Buyers deserve an auctioneer who treat them with understanding and courtesy.
The Agent is the one who has done the hard yards over several weeks (months or years) leading up to the auction and deserves that recognition. They deserve an auctioneer who works with them as part of their team and promotes the agent and the agency not the auctioneers business. They also deserve an auctioneer who has the experience, knowledge and expertise to do the best possible job irrespective of the circumstances or the market and leave the vendors, buyers and all auction attendees with the best possible impression.

YOUR TERMS
CANCELLATION POLICY
100% THREE DAY FEE FREE CANCELLATION POLICY - Book an auction with OPA to receive a confirmed date and time from us, and then if you want or need to cancel or postpone the booking for any reason within 72 hours from the booking (For example, you did not get the listing or the vendors changed their minds) no auction or cancellation fee is payable.
100% FEE FREE CANCELLATION FOR ADVANCED BOOKINGS - Book your auction as far in advance you want and have a confirmed date and time for your auction. If you need to cancel or postpone the auction for any reason at least 42 days prior to the auction, no auction or cancellation fee shall be payable.
50% CANCELLATION FEE - Cancel the auction any time within 42 days prior to auction (for example sellers withdraw the property from sale, or cancel the auction due to lack of buyer interest) and a booking cancellation fee of only 50% of the full auction fee applies
PLEASE NOTE: If confirmed Auction booking is cancelled due the property being sold prior to auction the standard full auction fee shall apply.
BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS
All auction bookings will be confirmed with a booking confirmation email within 24 hours. If you have not received an email from us within 24 hours of your initial contact to us please contact us again immediately by phone, email or text to ensure this addressed for you immediately.
PAYMENT
Auction fees and any agreed additional OPA services are be payable within seven (7) days of invoice date.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES & BRANDING
All branding at the auction shall reflect yours, not ours.
Auction Terms and Conditions ‘A frame’ will be supplied by OPA.
REI bidder register & bidder cards, OFT bidders’ guides and bidding records, OPA reserve letter templates, authorities to bid on behalf of another person, prescribed auction conditions and warnings can also be supplied by OPA to agents for thier use with their branding can be included in our standard fee upon agent’s request.
An assistant to register bidders prior to the auction and record bids at the auction can also be provided by OPA at an additional fee (to be confirmed at time of booking the auction). Where engaged to provide these services OPA agree to provide the bidders register and register of bids immediately following the auction to the Agent for Agents files in accordance with the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act and Regulations. Unless advised to OPA in writing at the time of booking the auction the Agent agrees to provide their personnel to perform those tasks.
If the Agent wants the auctioneer and/or the auctioneers assistant to wear a company branded tie, scarf and/or name tag the Agent/Agency agrees to provide such at their cost.

GET THE AUCTIONEER YOU BOOKED
No last minute surprises. No double bookings. We will confirm your auctioneer at the time of booking. If you don't get the auctioneer confirmed at the time of booking then the auction is fee free.

WE COME PREPARED
Prior to each auction, we research the property and location, have your personal and agency introductions and auction preamble prepared and approved by you.
ON TIME, EVERY TIME
It's OPA policy to always leave ample time between auctions. Typically we arrive 10 - 20 minutes before the advertised auction time. If we arrive less than 5 minutes before the advertised time the auction will be fee free.
